Porec

Thanks to the efforts of local authorities and touristic enterprises, Porec has won more awards and certificates than any other Croatian tourist resort. But its perfect tourism image has not been achieved with just sun, sea and a stunning natural landscape. Porec has retained its historic values and preserved its fine museums, galleries and palaces, cleverly combining ancient with modern: part of the city walls and towers still remain – the pentagonal tower houses a restaurant, the round tower a pub. Most visitors are totally unaware that they walk streets built by the Romans. Porec is also well known for sport and often used as a base for training camps for various disciplines.
