| Situated on the main road from Zargreb to Dalmatia, this is one of the best-known of the Croatian National Parks and is
listed as a UNESCO World Heritage. The main attraction of this unique park is a lacework of sixteen little lakes
interconnected by waterfalls. The park also holds the source of the River Korana and is surrounded by dense, partly
uncultivated forest. In addition to lakes and forests, the park is adorned with several caves, springs and flower-filled
meadows. Many rare species of wild animals are native to the area and one of the more notable park inhabitants is the brown
bear. The park’s popularity is also enhanced by panoramic trains and electric boats for easy visitor transport. |
